This Upcoming Online Class Will FINALLY Get You Weaving
There are so many woven wall hangings that we’ve been obsessing about over here at Brit + Co. We wanted to get in on this trendy texture by learning how to make our own. And now you can too! The best part? You won’t need a ton of expensive supplies to get started, because we’re going to teach you how to weave on a loom made of cardboard!
In our upcoming class, INTRO TO WEAVING, you’ll learn how to make a woven wall hanging full of color and texture. Your awesome instructor, Megan Bogden Shimek, is an amazing fiber artist who’s here to teach you her tips and techniques to finally learn weaving skills AND create something beautiful in the process.
Your class project will be making a small, one-of-kind woven wall hanging that includes wool roving (that fluffy yarn!), fringe, pops of color, and fun textures.
If you need a little inspo to start your weaving adventures, just check out more of Meghan’s work below:

By the end of her online class, you’ll know how to:
- Warp your cardboard loom to get your weaving project setup exactly how you want it
- Use the basic over-under motion of classic weaving to build out your design
- Add in fringe, wool roving (the fluffy yarn!), and tons of extra textures and color
- Finish your project, take it off the loom, and turn it into a wall hanging
You’ll walk away from the class with a colorful woven tapestry that will without a doubt jazz up your walls. So what are you waiting for?
