RHONY’s Luann de Lesseps, Husband Tom D’Agostino Are Divorcing After 7 Months

One of Hollywood’s newlywed couples has just called it quits. The Real Housewives of New York City’s Luann D’Agostino (née de Lesseps) announced Thursday that she and her husband are divorcing after seven months of marriage.

The Bravo star took to Twitter to inform fans that she and her husband had mutually decided to part ways. “It’s with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce,” she wrote. “We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!”

This was de Lesseps’ second marriage — she was previously wed to Count Alexandre de Lesseps — and D’Agostino’s first. Their New Year’s Eve wedding was an extravagant three-day affair that took place in Palm Beach, Florida, and saw several members of the Housewives franchise attend as guests.

However, speculation about trouble in the marriage (including rumors surrounding Tom’s alleged infidelity) persisted throughout the seven months after their wedding. Considering the couple’s repeated insistence that their relationship was fine, and the fact that faux-drama is par for the course for reality stars, the buzz didn’t cause too much concern. That is, until today’s sad divorce announcement.

The RHONY standout’s friends and costars were quick to send her their support, with Sonja Morgan telling E! News, “I told Luann I’m there for her whether this worked out or not and here I am. Men come and go, and at the end of the day, we have our girlfriends, don’t we? I wanted it to work out, but I want her to know I’m here for her.”

Ramona Singer made a similar statement of support to E!, saying, “My heart breaks for her. Luann went into this wanting to make it work. I’ve never seen her happier.”
