Here’s Why This ‘The Bachelor’ Contestant’s Hair Is Causing a Stir
The ladies of season 22 of The Bachelor have been revealed, and while the show won’t air until January, one contestant, in particular, is already standing out from the pack. Not only did she (purposely) not give her age (gasp!), she’s also breaking convention with her hairstyle, which has the internet in a tizzy.
Unlike the other 28 contestants, most of whom have the classic flowing locks we’ve come to expect from the show, Rebekah (Bekah) Martinez is sporting a full-on pixie.
Though she’s not the first contestant to ever wear short hair on the show — Kelsey Poe, for instance, sported a chin-length bob while vying for Chris Soules’ heart on season 19, and another contestant, Bibiana Julian, is rocking a similar cut this time around — Martinez’s is definitely the shortest we’ve seen from the lot in all its 23 seasons.
Fans were HERE for the edgy look, taking to social media to voice their approval.

From the looks of the teaser preview, which dropped Monday night, they’ll definitely be seeing quite a bit of the cute cut, with Martinez featured front and center for the mystery surrounding her age. As contestant Chelsea Roy says in the clip, “I think she is reluctant to tell Arie how old she is,” with a tearful Martinez saying, “I’m like, sick of people saying that.”
Tune in to see what happens (and how she styles those fierce locks!) when the show premieres on January 1 at 8pm/7c on ABC.
