For Your Next Dinner Party, Make a DIY Queso Bar!
We have been selected by ConAgra Foods and Kraft Foods to be spokespeople for VELVEETA and RO*TEL. While we have been compensated for our time, our opinions are our own.
It’s football season and you’re having everyone over to watch the big game. What do you make? Well, if you’re like us, queso is definitely on your list. But why not let your guests take part in the making action? Create a customized queso station and let everyone pick the mix-ins of their choice!
– 1 16-oz. package VELVEETA
– 1 12-oz. can RO*TEL
– taco meat (ground beef, turkey, or pork + taco seasoning)
– sour cream
– black beans
– chipotle peppers
Let’s start by making the original queso recipe. Chop VELVEETA into half-inch cubes and place in a medium-sized bowl. Add undrained RO*TEL and heat in the microwave for five minutes until smooth and creamy, stirring every couple minutes. Reheat as necessary in 30-second intervals.
Meanwhile, make sure all of your toppings are prepped. If you haven’t already done so, make your taco meat by sautéing ground beef, pork, or turkey and taco seasoning until cooked through. You’ll also need to cook the bacon until crispy. Then let cool and crumble.
Now, it’s time to get ready for your guests! Place all of your toppings into decorative bowls. Spread some chips, crackers, or vegetables around a platter and serve with hot queso. Then let them dig in and create their own custom queso!
