Okay, okay. Yes, some of us were still rocking bikinis and throwing backyard BBQs last month, but ever since we laid eyes on IKEA’s new holiday line we’re dreaming about eggnog, cozy fireplaces and romantic string lights. Think we’re overreacting? See for yourself.
The new pieces all fall under one of the two new collections: Nordic Light or Nostalgic Tradition. Nordic Light plays off the whimsical atmosphere of the holidays with simple yet decorative decor that includes blonde woods, fresh pastels and a little bit of that Scandinavian minimalism we’ve come to love from the brand. Nostalgic Tradition, on the other hand, is filled with a classic, warm holiday color palette that will immediately give you all the Christmas feels upon first glance.
IKEA is basically begging you to hack these ornaments into a DIYed piece of decor.
If you’re into the holidays but don’t necessarily want to go all out with the red and green, this collection is the way to do it. Full of rosy pinks, blues and gold, the unconventional color scheme gives decorating a fresh update.
Then again, there is something to be said about classic holiday decor. If you’re a Christmas purist, this heavily red and white color scheme is full of those nostalgic holiday looks — but not in a way that reminds you of your Grandma’s house. Score some of the festive bedding if you’re hosting guests this season or get a jump start on your gift wrapping by stocking up on some of the new, gorgeous rolls of paper.
Head over to IKEA’s website to take a look at the full collection and make your way to the giant blue and yellow warehouse ASAP to get a decorating head start.
