Julianne Hough Just Announced Her Engagement in the Sweetest Way
There was a time when people used to actually take out ads in the newspaper to notify the public when a couple got engaged. While creative engagement announcements are still amazing, if you’re a celeb, you probably can get the job done just by sharing the news with your 1.7 million followers on social media. The lady of the pink hair Julianne Hough did exactly that today via Instagram. The DWTS star said yes to her NHL player boyfriend, Brooks Laich, yesterday during their family trip to Lake Coeur d’Alene in Idaho. Yup, the hockey player proposed with Julianne’s family present, as we know Jules was playing lakeside with her nieces and nephews just three days ago on the same trip.
Julianne and Brooks posted matching pics to let the world know what they’re getting married! Yaaaaaaaaas! Here’s what they wrote in the caption: “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love”
The super photogenic and social media savvy pair make appearances on each other’s social media on the reg, so announcing their engagement this way only feels right. And it certainly looks like Julianne can’t get enough of her ring. While ring pics are yet to come, we’re sure we’ll get a snap of that on Julianne’s new lifestyle site, which promised us some love and relationship content after all.
According to US Weekly, Julianne, who is starring as Sandy in the live TV production of Grease next year (how perf is that casting?), and the Washington Capitals centerman started dating in February of 2014. We wonder how Julianne’s two King Charles Cavalier spaniels Lexi and Harley feel about getting a new dad. Considering how heavily featured they already are on Brooks’ Instagram, we’re going to say they probably adore him already.
Congrats to the happy couple!
