Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Are Reportedly Expecting Their Third Child Via Surrogate
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have faced a lot of ups and downs, disappointment, and uncertainty as they try to expand their family. After the mom-of-two found out that she might not be able to give birth again due to the complications that caused serious issues during her first two pregnancies, the famous couple decided to explore surrogacy, reportedly finding a candidate back in June. Now, People claims that the surrogate is pregnant and they’re officially expecting their third child.
According to the magazine, West and Kardashian used a surrogacy agency to ensure that things goes as smoothly as possible. The couple — married since May 2014 and parents to four-year-old North and 21-month-old Saint — have reportedly been “super involved” in the process, with the KUWTK star even providing the surrogate with an “eating regimen and diet.”
With each of her previous pregnancies, Kardashian suffered from placenta accreta, a condition in which blood vessels and other parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall, putting mother and baby at risk of bleeding to death during delivery. The reality star started searching for alternative options when she was told that giving birth again could be life-threatening.
“Obviously I do want to have my own baby,” she told sister Kourtney Kardashian on an episode of KUWTK. “But I truly don’t know if my body can handle it one more time.”
In another episode, she said she and West definitely wanted more kids. “I feel like surrogacy is the only option for me. Kanye and I are going to look into other options and see what we are comfortable with … but I’m definitely leaning towards [surrogacy],” she shared. “I always knew surrogacy was an option — now it’s my reality. Whatever is meant to be will be.”
We’re still awaiting an official announcement from the couple, but it could be a while. As Kardashian told mom Kris Jenner on KUWTK, “The best thing is I could have a new baby and have no one know and live my life for a good year before we announce it.”
