They say there’s a price to pay for high fashion (like pretty much every one of the craziest Met Gala dresses seared into our memory), but that cost can definitely go beyond the shock-factor and price-tag, as Kylie Jenner unfortunately found out while attending this year’s Met Gala in one fabulously fierce (and apparently painful) outfit that left the celeb cut up and bruised.
With the help of Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, Kylie nailed the tech-tastic theme of the event — Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology Costume Institute Gala — in her bedazzled full-length Balmain creation paired with Aquazzura stilettos. But as fab as she looked, turns out the sparkling getup left behind some painful marks.
Kylie snapped at the end of the night with the caption, “When ur dress made you bleed and ur [sic] feet are purple.” Ouch! This is definitely one of those style over comfort instances. The scratches left behind by her encrusted gown look like a kitten mistook her legs for scratching posts. But it’s her feet we’re actually worried about — those puppies certainly do look bruised. We’d advise to stay off those stems for a few days and recover. Kylie did reveal one snap later that it was “worth it” though.
So perhaps you’ve never had it that bad, but raise your hand if you can relate? We’ve probably all hobbled home after a night out in shoes that just chewed up our feet. *Sigh* The high cost of fashion.
