Ellen Degeneres Helped This 12-Year-Old Start a Makeup YouTube Channel
Little Big Shot’s Reuben de Maid appeared on The Ellen Show and completely melted hearts singing “And I Am Telling You” from Dreamgirls. Then, the 12-year-old sat down to chat with the host, and revealed his great passion off of the stage: makeup.
“Ever since I was eight, I have been so interested,” the young Welsh artist confessed. “I used to watch my phone for hours on end, learning from tutorials and blogs, seeing how to do it.” In fact, he did his own makeup for the show.

He also enjoys practicing on his mother and sister at home. For that, de Maid said he’s teased at school. “In my drama group, I used to get hit, punched, and kicked,” he said. “After two months, I tried to brush it off, but brushing it off doesn’t work. So I stood up to them and I told my mom.” As a result of the bullying, de Maid had to transfer schools.
“Good for you for not stopping who you are,” Degeneres told him. “That’s really tough.” After advising him that he didn’t need to “become a Kardashian because you are your own self,” she gifted de Maid with everything that he needs to start his own Youtube channel including lighting, a laptop, and a Kardashian backdrop. His reaction is priceless. Watch for yourself below.
