How to Make a Pumpkin Keg in Less than 10 Minutes
Welcome to another episode of Pies + DIYs — the Facebook Live where we complete DIYs while eating pie. Tune in every Wednesday to pick what we’ll make using only three tools and six materials.
This week, we hollowed-out a pumpkin and turned it into a keg to hold a fall favorite: pumpkin beer. This DIY is really simple and will only take you 10 minutes. If you don’t have a keg tap (which most people don’t), purchase this Unido Box Keg Tap Kit ($15) from Amazon, which comes with all the tools you’ll need.
To create the keg, cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin and scoop out all of guts and seeds. Use the corking tool to cut a hole in the bottom center of the pumpkin. Then stick the keg tap through the hole and secure in place by screwing the bolt on the inside of the pumpkin. Pour in your beer and invite over all your friends.
