If you thought that the 10th anniversary of Keeping Up With the Kardashians meant that you might have to say goodbye to the celebrity TV family sometime in the near future, think again. According to reports, the Kardashian-Jenners just inked a deal that will ensure they stay on the air for a few more years.
TMZ reports that the contract is for $30 million per season for five seasons, for a total of $150 million through 2019. Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, cited sources who said the deal is through 2020 but for well below $100 million.
Whatever the amount, TMZ says it’s an overall package deal for all of the services that Kris Jenner and her children (and grandchildren, for that matter) provide to E!. That likely includes their show and any KUWTK specials, as well as exclusive interviews, clips, and additional content.
TMZ also reports that it’s up to the family to decide how to divvy up the funds. But we’re sure momager Kris Jenner has that under control. And whether the deal is for $150 million or less than $100 million, there’s plenty of money to go around. (The family’s last contract in 2015 saw them bringing in $20 million per season for five seasons, for a total of $100 million.)
E! hasn’t confirmed the details of the contract, but the network did release a statement to THR, Variety, and Deadline, saying, “We recently celebrated the milestone 10th anniversary of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E! We have aired 13 wildly successful seasons of the franchise as well as 11 spinoffs, and season 14 is off to a strong start. We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the Kardashians and they remain an important part of the E! family. We look forward to continuing our collaboration for years to come.”
No doubt fans are looking forward to it too. The new deal means we’ll be watching the family’s on-screen shenanigans until at least 2019, and possibly even 2020. And with three more babies reportedly on the way — Kylie, Khloé, and Kim are all rumored to be expecting — we have a feeling that this famous family will be around for even longer than that.
