Announcing Our First Online Class: Intro to Photoshop + 3 DIY Projects

After an overwhelming number of you guys expressed interest in having us teach a Photoshop 101 class, we’re pumped to announce that it’s actually happening! Starting today, you can sign up for our first-ever Skillshare class for just $14 (use code BRITCO to get $5 off). The class will feature an in-depth overview of Photoshop, from how to use adjustment layers to what all of those tools actually do. But to us, learning software is not very practical if you aren’t actually applying it to real-life situations.

That’s why we’re also going to show you three DIY projects you can accomplish with your savvy new Photoshoppin’ skills. We’ve paired this course with a special edition Brit Kit that has all the supplies you need to complete each project! Here’s what it looks like:

So what are these projects? Good question.

1. Once you’ve mastered how to set type in Photoshop (we’ll address issues such as kearning, leading, etc), we’ll show you how to transfer that type to the analog world by creating a “Say Cheese” board (get it?) to use for all of your dinner party extravaganzas.

2. Instagram is all the rage (we know, we know), but there are better places for your photos than your phone’s camera roll. We’ll show you how to take them into the real world by showing you how to perfect your filtered photos then transfer them onto a canvas tote that you can sport each day.

3. To wrap up all of your skills, we’ve got a more complex project to end with: custom greeting cards! The fun of this one is not only creating the card design itself, but actually turning your handwriting into a digital font for even more customization.

You’ll be able to create all sorts of new things (both digital and analog) once you have these skills. We hope you’ll consider signing up for the class (remember to use BRITCO for $5 off!) and picking up the DIY PhotoShop Kit as well. Class “unlocks” on December 9th — just in time to create all of your holiday gifts and greetings.

Happy learning!
