Unexpected Ways to Make Your Morning Oatmeal Savory

Winter is coming, folks… and it’s bringing some *seriously* chilly weather. Our favorite way to warm up? Breakfast bowls that you can make in a matter of minutes!

Craving the rich flavors of an Eggs Benedict or Huevos Rancheros but don’t exactly have an hour to spend on your weekday morning meal? WE FEEL YOU. That’s why we’ve teamed up with our friends at The Quaker Oats Company to bring you some savory oatmeal recipes that will help you start your day strong and excited for what lies ahead. Plus, thanks to a helpful bacon hack and egg hack, you can whip up each recipe in less than 10 minutes! And #OffYouGo!

Bacon Banana Oatmeal Bowl

Ingredients:

– 1 packet Quaker Instant Oatmeal

– 1 banana

– 2 slices turkey bacon

– 1-2 tablespoons almond butter

Instructions:

1. Prepare oatmeal packet according to package instructions.

2. Cook the bacon. Place a few sheets of paper towel on a microwave-safe plate. Lay bacon slices on the plate. Place another paper towel sheet on top of the bacon. Microwave for 4-5 minutes on high.

3. Slice banana. Chop turkey bacon. Top your oatmeal with banana slices and bacon pieces. Drizzle almond butter on top. Enjoy!

Poached Egg + Avocado Oatmeal Bowl

Ingredients:

– 1 packet Quaker Instant Oatmeal

– 1 egg

– 1/2 avocado

– salsa

Instructions:

1. Prepare oatmeal packet according to package instructions.

2. Make your poached egg. Add 1/2 cup water to a mug. Crack an egg into the water. Cover the mug with plastic wrap and microwave for 90 seconds.

3. Place your poached egg on top of your oatmeal. Add diced avocado and a few spoonfuls of fresh salsa or pico de gallo. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
