Hey all! Irene here, Creative Content Producer at Brit + Co. If you’re like me, you love fall. I need pumpkin spice in my diet, apple picking on my weekends, and of course, the hottest fall fashion trends to add to my closet.
This year, fall is all about velvet, romance, and detailed denim! To help you keep your looks feeling fresh, we teamed up with JCPenney to show you three different ways to wear your favorite fall trends. JCPenney not only has an awesome array of clothing at a great value; they have a wide range of sizes so anyone can rock their best look. Let’s dive in!
Fall weather brings to mind dark jewel tones and royal velvet fabrics. Velvet instantly adds a layer of luxury and glam to any look, whether it’s in the form of a dress or an accessory. Swipe to check out our favorite ways to wear this trend!
First up is Rebecca, who is wearing an a.n.a. Bell Sleeve Velvet Dress ($49), Style Charles Groove Over the Knee Boots ($90) and Libby Edelman Tori Tote Bag ($65). This outfit will easily make you the most fashionable lady at brunch. If you’re going out later, swap out the tote bag for a clutch.
The bell sleeves on this dark red, velvet dress add a playful touch, while the over-the-knee boots are a fall favorite.
While velvet often makes bold statements, it’s also nice to pare it down and mix different velvet pieces together. Velvet adds a luxurious touch and gives this flirty, cold-shoulder flutter sleeve a.n.a Velvet Cold Shoulder Blouse ($39) a grown-up edge. Mona paired the top with a pair of maroon St. John’s Bay Skinny Fit Jean ($36).
Don’t you just love these velvet floral Diba London Danica Booties ($70)? They’re the perfect way to add a pop of pattern to your outfit!
Every gal has those days when she just wants to feel comfortable in her outfit. This a.n.a. Embroidered Velvet Bomber Jacket ($74) is the perfect way to elevate a casual ensemble without sacrificing comfort and ease. I love how it’s a mix of sporty, glam, and feminine.
Chantal is totally rocking this look with the velvet bomber jacket, a T.D.C Cowl Neck Satin Cami Top ($37) and Libby Edelman Two-Toned Jeans ($54). She finished the look with velvet Libby Edelman® Caitlyn Womens Slip-On Shoes ($64). The velvet and bow detail give the shoe the perfect sporty and girly combo.
Florals and ruffles are not just for spring, people! This romantic fall trend is all about dreamy ruffles, layers, and bold floral patterns.
How lovely is this a.n.a. Floral Maxi Dress ($54)? With these long chiffon layers and bright blossom pattern, Mona looks like an absolute goddess in the dress. JCPenney is all about fashion with accessibility, which not only means great fashion for great value, but also clothing that fits and flatters every body type.
To add romance into an everyday look, try this a.n.a. Peplum Ruffle Top ($37) with a pair of green St. John’s Bay Skinny Fit Jean ($36). The top adds a flirty touch to a classic jeans and t-shirt look.
Chantal’s studded Libby Edelman Camille Mid Crossbody Bag ($50) gives her look a bit of edge while her a.n.a Fallon Women’s Ballet Flats ($60), with delicate lace-up details, tie back to her romantic ruffle top.
We love Rebecca’s take on this romantic trend. The Worthington Long Sleeve Crew Neck Floral T-Shirt ($44) has beautiful ruffle details and is grounded by the dark a.n.a. Lace Up Jegging ($49) and Worthington Daren Womens Booties ($69). We finish Rebecca’s outfit with a structured Libby Edelman Lauren Satchel($80) to balance out the top’s flowy shapes.
This is the perfect outfit for brunch or the office… or for frolicking!
Trend: Detailed Denim
Our third and final trend is all about detailed denim! Every season has a different spin on this closet staple. This fall, we’re focused on adding embellishments to our fave denim pieces.
If you love boyfriend jeans, you’re going to love these Project Runway Embellished Pearl Boyfriend Jeans ($59). The pearls help bring an eye-catching detail to your boyfriend jeans this fall. Chantal paired the jeans with our Liz Claiborne Warwick Womens Sneakers ($50) and a silky Project Runway Grommet Trim Satin Cami Top ($37). This is a cute outfit for a coffee date or running errands.
Here in California, we have Indian Summers, which mean the hottest time of the year is during August and September.
This outfit is part 90s, part 1930s (yup, the cold-shoulder trend first appeared about 50 years ago), but 100 percent trendy. We’re loving the scatter of embroidered flowers on Rebecca’s a.n.a Denim Skirt ($44) and how they tie into her Libby Edelman Jessica Womens Pumps ($64).
To complete this look, Rebecca’s wearing the Bisou Bisou Ruffle Cold Shoulder Top ($44). This outfit is giving us major throwback vibes, in the best way possible. As they say, everything old is new again!
If you want to translate the embroidered denim look in skinny jean form, we suggest picking up a pair of a.n.a Embroidered Jegging ($49). The embroidered flowers add a whimsical touch to the typical skinny jean. We played up the blush tones in the flowers by pairing the jeans with a pink Worthington Long Sleeve Mock Neck Knit Blouse ($44).
Cheers to another stylish season!
