When Carrie Underwood took a fall outside her Nashville home a few days ago, it seemed as if she just needed a little TLC to recuperate. But now the singer has revealed that she actually had to undergo surgery on her broken wrist.

The 34-year-old took to Twitter today to give fans an update. 鈥淚 just wanted let everyone know that I鈥檓 doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well鈥ven though I鈥檒l be setting off airport metal detectors from now on鈥︹ (This may mean that implants were inserted during surgery to help heal her fracture.) She added, 鈥淚鈥檓 so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who鈥檝e been taking such great care of me.鈥

According to Underwood鈥檚 rep, a broken wrist wasn鈥檛 the only injury she suffered because of the fall. 鈥淥n Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,鈥 the rep said in the initial statement to E! News, adding, 鈥淲hile there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall鈥 Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes.鈥

Because of her injuries, the 鈥淏lown Away鈥 songstress was forced to cancel her performance at the Country Rising benefit concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday night. It鈥檚 unknown whether the injury will affect future performances.

In the meantime, fans are sending her plenty of well-wishes.

We鈥檙e sure that all of her fans are wishing her a speedy recovery!
