With more than 20 tattoos under her belt, Demi Lovato is no stranger to getting inked… but Lovato just debuted a new tattoo on her hand that seems to have a powerful hidden meaning. The subtle ink comes just days after releasing her new song “Sober,” which addresses her struggles with addiction and relapsing.

In a post on her Instagram Story on Monday, the “Tell Me You Love Me” crooner debuted hew newest artwork on her right pinky finger that reads “Free” in cursive, captioning the photo “Jun. 22, 2018,” which seems to signify the date she got the tat. But Lovato isn’t the only one who got inked — several members of her team, including her manager, assistant, hairstylist, makeup artist, and security, all got the same one, with the 25-year-old sharing a group shot captioned “The team that tats together stays together.”

Lauren Einbinder, a member of Lovato’s management team, posted a selfie with the “Sexy Dirty Love” singer, writing, “That moment when you realize you’re living your dream with the people you love.” Hairstylist César Ramirêz shared another photo, writing, “Everyone deserves to speak their truth! Love is accepting someone for who they are and for who they are not!”

Lovato has always been honest with her fans about her mental health struggles and her substance abuse addictions, and it seems that her latest ink is a powerful symbol about where she is in her journey right now. According to the singer, “Sober” is about sharing her “truth.”
