This Is Why Kourtney Kardashian Made the Switch to Natural Deodorant
Whether you’re a sweaty betty or not, we all know that the struggle is real to find the best deodorant that keeps you dry and smelling sweet. Recently on her app, Kourtney Kardashian explains why she decided to ditch the parabens and play it safe when it comes to her underarm health.
According to Kardashian, she seeks out clean alternatives whenever possible. “I always try to look for all-natural options when it comes to beauty products — from nail polish to toothpaste to deodorant,” she writes on her site. “Changing over to an all-natural deodorant seemed like an important thing to do when I heard that when people are diagnosed with breast cancer, they are told to immediately discontinue using conventional antiperspirants and deodorants.”
And, yes, she’s aware that swapping out the product may not necessarily make a difference. “Although research connecting the parabens and aluminum from these products directly with breast cancer is inconclusive, I like to play it safe,” the mom of three writes.
One of the reality star’s faves is Agent Nateur N °3 Deodorant ($21), which is organic and handmade in the USA. This deodorant is also aluminum-free and lightly scented with honey, lavender, and eucalyptus.
In case you don’t want to throw down $20+ on a stick, a more budget-friendly option is Schmidts Naturals Ylang-Ylang Deodorant ($9). The vegan, cruelty-free deodorant has plant-based powders in place of aluminum and is scented with essential oils. In addition, it carries a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, so you can sweat it out for yourself before you decide.
