Mandy Moore Opens Up About Building a Home With BF Taylor Goldsmith
The This Is Us cast is just getting back to work on season two, but the Emmy-nominated series isn’t the only thing occupying Mandy Moore’s mind. The leading lady is deep in renovations on her new Pasadena house, where she plans to fully embrace this exciting stage of her life — her clean slate — by creating a home with her boyfriend, Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith.
“I feel like the last year of my life has really been such a cleansing period and yeah, the house is totally symbolic of where I’m lucky enough to find myself at this point in my life, at 33,” Moore told People in a new interview. “I’m ready to start over, start from scratch. I’m so enthusiastic about embracing that. I can’t wait. It’s the best feeling.”
And Moore’s happiness shines through! She recently posted an Instagram photo celebrating two years with her beau, captioning it, “The best 2 years. Never not smiling with you, T.”

Though the two already live together, Moore wants to make their new house a true home base. “He has a ton of books and records, so we made sure in the design of the house that we’re doing a lot of built-ins and bookshelves,” she explained to People.
There is one obstacle in the way of their perfect home, though: Goldsmith’s piano. “He really loves his piano and I’m like, ‘Babe, it’s not going to fit with the whole color scheme of the house,’” she admitted. “That’s my biggest hurdle at this point, figuring out, do we replace the piano or do we just let this shiny, black upright piano go in the middle of the house? We’re going to figure that out.”
