This Summer Rental Is Every Dirty Dancing Fan’s Dream Come True
As if the promise of a Dirty Dancing remake wasn’t exciting enough (Sarah Hyland just cut her hair in a farewell to her character post-film wrap while Abigail Breslin got a commemorative tattoo), we’ve just uncovered yet ANOTHER reason for Baby and Johnny fans to lose their minds.
The original film site, Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembrooke, Virginia (perhaps better known as Kellerman’s in the movie) is offering up a deal that is, quite frankly, too good to be missed.
Hosting three Dirty Dancing weekends that kicked off yesterday (through tomorrow, July 29-31 and August 26-28), guests at the resort will not only be privy to film-inspired activities, such as trivia, dancing lessons (but of course) and a watermelon toss (too cute!), they’ll be able to stay in Baby’s family’s cabin! Squee!!!
The hotel’s general manager, Heidi Stone, told The Wrap that the event is actually one of her resort’s biggest draws. “It is amazing how many thousands of Dirty Dancing fans we meet every summer. We have guests from all over the world that come to Mountain Lake Lodge just for the [themed weekends],” she said.
Though the package appears to be sold out online, a quick call confirmed there’s about four spots left in July and 20 in August, so be sure to book yours ASAP!
Who knows? Maybe you’ll even get the original Baby (played by actress Jennifer Grey) as a teacher? She’s certainly still got it: Just peep this video she posted a few weeks back!
