Selena Gomez has been teasing her new music video for “Fetish” on Instagram, and we have to admit: We were a little confused. Granted, there are a lot of ways you could go with a fetish theme, but we didn’t expect to see the singer in a walk-in freezer, as first hinted at in an Instagram photo she posted this week.
Now that the video has been released, we get it (sort of). The vid starts with a serene scene of a suburban neighborhood before shots of Gomez quickly flash across the screen and cut into the calm. From there, we see Gomez, groceries in hand, walking toward a smokey car wreck, then unsteadily through a grassy yard.
Inside her house, she proceeds to freak out, writhing around on the kitchen floor before sticking a piece of broken glass into her mouth, taking an eyelash curler to her tongue, grinding lipstick into her teeth, and biting into some soap. Toward the end, she wanders into a frosty walk-in freezer filled with frozen peaches.
It’s definitely not what we were expecting from “Fetish,” but it’s intriguing all the same.
