Beauty Editor Approved: The 2 Foundations We Can’t Live Without
For most of us, base makeup is the first thing we put on our skin when we’re primping. While it sets the stage for lots of different looks, switching up the brand and formula of a foundation can totally transform your appearance. It’s totally fun to hack your own foundation to create the ideal blend for your skin, but there are SO many different options out there to choose from. So why not shop around? Here are two foundations Misty and I loooove (and we hope you do too).
I absolutely love Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($42). It’s been my everyday go-to for several months (which is a long time for a beauty editor!) because of its seriously lightweight formula. This product is neither a matte foundation nor is it full coverage — and that’s why I love it. It gives you a healthy, dewy look without ever looking cakey. Just imagine your own skin, but better! You can build upon your first application for more coverage when needed, and you can even use your fingers to apply if you’re in a pinch.

“My current favorite foundation is the W3LL PEOPLE Narcissist Foundation Stick ($29). There isn’t a foundation out there that feels more natural! This product can go on light or be layered for more flawless coverage. This line of makeup can be categorized as skincare because they are so mindful about what ingredients go into each product. Even without setting powder, this foundation is great for the summer, because it looks so clean and effortless! But, if you want a more polished effect, just swipe on some setting powder and another layer of this hero product — then you can rock out all night long!”
