Note: This post may contain season 2 spoilers!

Perry Wright may not be coming back for season 2 of Big Little Lies (at least as far as producer Bruna Papandrea knows!), but the rest of the gang most certainly will!

In addition to Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, who we already knew would be back to reprise their roles as Celeste Wright and Madeline Martha McKenzie, and Meryl Streep, who will be joining the cast as Perry Wright’s mother, we’ve now gotten word that the rest of the cast will also be returning for a second round of the HBO hit come 2019.

Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, and Laura Dern will all be returning to Monterey, and, thanks to E!, we also know a little bit more about what’s in store for their characters.

According to the outlet, who spoke to HBO, Celeste will be at odds with her fictional mother-in-law (Streep), who will show up on the scene out of concern for her grandchildren. The widower won’t roll over and allow Perry’s mother to take over, however, as she’s “adrift, but determined to fight for her family and find the woman she once was” in the wake of her husband’s passing.

Jane Chapman (Woodley) and Bonnie Carlson (Kravitz) will also struggle with Perry’s death, with Jane processing the attack she suffered at the late businessman’s hands while attempting to rebuild a life with her son and Bonnie questioning her own fateful actions, having pushed him to his death.

It won’t be ALL about Perry, however, with Bonnie’s parents also being introduced and Renata Klein facing her own marital struggles.

If it sounds somewhat dark, it is: As the Hollywood Reporter previously reported, season two will see the show exploring “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage, and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode … the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.”

Whoa: Did anyone else just feel a shiver?
