Texas-born designer Brandon Maxwell might call New York home these days, but he looked to those dreamy desert skies for his new limited-edition collection with MAC Cosmetics. Inspired by his home state and the “larger-than-life women” who shaped his creative vision, the MAC X Brandon Maxwell line features five beauty staples (priced between $19 and $33): a desert-toned shadow palette, a sunset-hued matte lipstick in two shades, and the brand’s signature Lipglass in two peachy pink colors. Maxwell, whose creations have been worn by the likes of Blake Lively, Meghan Markle, Michelle Obama, and Lady Gaga, will debut the products at his Spring 2019 show on September 8, the same day it will go on sale.
Maxwell isn’t the only designer teaming up with a beloved beauty brand: Isabel Marant is joining forces with L’Oréal Paris on a new collection. Marant looked to classic French beauty for a line of Parisian essentials including Smile Color Riche Matte Lipstick, Amaze Gloss, Smoke Eyeshadow Duo, Wanted Mascara, and Shine Skin Beautifier. The products, which range in price from $12 to $16, will be available at Barneys.com and Isabel Marant stores on September 19. Since Marant’s designs have been worn by Markle, Kate Moss, and Beyoncé, you know her latest foray into beauty will be très magnifique.
