Cardi B is sitting on top of the world! Earlier this month, the Bronx rapper did the inconceivable and bumped Taylor Swift‘s “Look What You Made Me Do” from the top spot on the Billboard Top 100 chart with her hit, “Bodak Yellow.” Last night, she followed up that historic moment up with yet another major milestone when Migos rapper Offset asked her to marry him… onstage!
The chart-topping performer was singing to a sold out crowd of 19,000 at the Philly Powerhouse when her boyfriend of nearly a year, who had performed earlier in the evening, took her by surprise, joining her onstage and dropping down on one knee with an eight-carat (!!) diamond stunner.
The hip-hop starlet was visibly stunned as she gasped, covered her face, and embraced her new fiancé with a resounding “Yes,” putting all rumors of a possible breakup to rest.
Taking to Instagram following the memorable performance, the 25-year-old showed off her new pear-shaped bling, writing, “I’m so emotional, @offsetyrn I loveee you so much. Thank you for seeing the potential in me since you met me. For giving me advice, molding me, and loving me,” she continued. “You’re such an amazing man to me, your family, friends, kids, and you are extremely talented. I can’t wait to spend FOREVAAAA with you. Lets make a lot shmoney and love together.”
She returned moments later to give fans an up close and personal look at the dazzling rock, adding, “I just want to go to sleep and wake up and make sure this ain’t a dream. Thank you God for all these blessings. Thank you babe @offsetyrn, God really sent you to me.”
The couple was first spotted together at the start of the year when they left a Super Bowl party together back in February. She dropped hints about a possible engagement at the VMAs in August, telling MTV, “I’m a woman. Every woman, I think, wants to get married and wants to have children. It’s never too early to get married now. You know, if you want to propose to me, you can.” Looks like Offset was listening!
Congrats, you two!
