It’s the summer of short(er) hair, according to celebs, with both Khloé Kardashian and Victoria Beckham opting for the on-trend wavy lob, while Katherine Heigl and Victoria’s Secret’s Taylor Hill took things a little further, or rather, shorter. And now, Carrie Underwood has decided to join the club with her shortest hairstyle yet.
The country star has been teasing a shorter look for a while now, wearing a wavy lob during red-carpet appearances and while performing on stage. But now she’s decided to go even shorter, letting the length fall a couple of inches below her chin but still well above her shoulders. Parting it to the side and striking a fierce pose, she totally slays the style.
The 33-year-old, who performed “Church Bells” at last night’s CMT Awards and won Performance of the Year and Female Video of the Year for “Smoke Break,” told People, “I needed my life to be a little more simple. It was taking too long to do things that shouldn’t take long. It keeps getting shorter!”
Making a change, whether gradually or all at once, can be unnerving, but Carrie feels great about her new look. “I was just like, ‘Enough, no more extensions.’ It was a mess. It was enough. This is better. This is me.”
Lob, bob, pixie or side-shaved (oh my!), we’re sure Carrie could pull off pretty much anything, but it’s always best to go with the look that makes you feel like you.
