Celebrity Stylist Justine Marjan’s Secret for Flawless Morning Hair Is *This*
What do the Kardashians, Chrissy Teigen, and Jenna Dewan Tatum have in common? Yes, they’re all bombshells, but each of the ladies also has Justine Marjan to thank for showstopping hairstyles. The bicoastal pro and Instagram enthusiast is known for creating cutting-edge styles for red carpet and off-duty events (see: Kim K’s braids, Olivia Culpo’s bubble pony, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Dorit Kemsley’s gold-leaf hair). With such an on-the-go lifestyle, Marjan has mastered low-key, flawless hair. We picked her brain to see how she gets ready for the day.

Brit + Co: Do you wash and blow out your hair every morning?
Justine Marjan: I usually wash my hair the night before with Tresemme Repair and Protect 7 and do a OUAI Treatment Mask ($32), then leave in Aveda Smooth Serum ($25). Then in the morning, I run my ghd Platinum Flat Iron ($249) through my hair, usually just on the ends and around the face to quickly add polish.
B+C: What is your go-to skin care and makeup routine?
JM: I wash my face with DNA Skin Institute Citrus Burst Gel Cleanser because it’s super gentle and organic. Then I apply DNA Collagen Moisturizer and Glossier Balm Dot Com. For makeup, I use products by Armani, Tarte, Charlotte Tilbury, Benefit, Kylie Cosmetics, and IT Cosmetics.
B+C: What’s your daily hairstyle look like?
JM: I like to keep it simple. I usually either wear it straight with a middle part or with a slight flat iron wave. Sometimes it’s fun to sleep in braids and take them out in the morning for a messier, textured do. Just revive with a little Oribe Dry Texture Spray ($46)! Or I’ll wear it sleek and apply Tresemme Keratin Smooth Serum and pull back into a low pony.
B+C: Green juice or coffee?
JM: Honestly, both! But sometimes getting or making a green juice isn’t convenient. I’m a big fan of the OLLY Super Foods Smoothie ($30)! It’s easy to make and take on the go, and I know I’m getting all my vitamins and nutrients in one place. For caffeine, my fiancé and I are coffee snobs and love checking out new chic artisan coffee shops in LA. But we recently moved to a side of town with no great options, so we’re now huge fans of stovetop espresso and have mastered the almond milk latte at home.
