Before The O.C. or One Tree Hill, there was Dawson’s Creek. The show launched the careers of stars Michelle Williams, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes, but once it ended in 2003, so did our hopes for any sort of reunion. With (spoiler alert!) Williams’ character Jen suddenly dying of a never-before-known heart defect during the series finale, how could we ever have the Creek reunion we so desperately wanted? With One Tree Hill’s cast reuniting earlier this year, it was probably only a matter of time before we saw some sort of reunion with some of the cast members from Creek. And now, all our dreams have come true with a reunion (of sorts) of two of the show’s stars.

Show stars Michelle Williams and James Van Der Beek reunited over the weekend at a party thrown by Matt Damon. We never thought we’d see Dawson and Jen back together (considering her death and all), but this reunion is one we’ve been waiting for for 13 years, which is the last time any of the show’s cast were photographed together!

While both Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes have mused in public about the idea of a reunion (Holmes isn’t sure it would work, and well, there’s the whole aforementioned Jen being dead thing), there has never been any real movement on the friends getting back together one more time.

With the success of the One Tree Hill reunion this year, maybe it’s time that Dawson’s Creek thought about some sort of cast party or convention for us fans. There may have been many post-Creek shows that were more popular, but this is the original and will always have our hearts.
