Recently, Victoria’s Secret hired a new fleet of Angels and a couple of them expressed that they thought it was about time for the lingerie giant to consider a plus-size Angel. (We concur.) While Victoria’s Secret has yet to address these comments, several people have already been brainstorming who that Angel could be.
Denise Bidot is one of the biggest names in plus-size modeling, having posed for Target, Nordstrom, Forever 21 and recently, a groundbreaking, completely unretouched campaign by swimsuitsforall that shattered backwards beauty standards. The nine billion dollar plus-size clothing industry probably has her to thank for a good chunk of their business. E Online recently caught up with the stunning model, and asked her thoughts on whether or not VS should hire a plus-size Angel.
While she didn’t say whether or not she would be gunning for the role, Bidot replied that if the brand decided to “include a plus-sized angel,” it would be “such a huge statement.” Given that as a curvy women, she hasn’t been able to shop at Victoria’s Secret due to very little stock coming in her size, hiring a plus-size Angel would be “a way to embrace us and make us feel like they get it. They get we’re beautiful.”
What a thoughtful and diplomatic answer, Denise, that’s 100 percent brand spokesmodel material!
