Fashion often draws inspiration from the most unexpected things, like Balenciaga鈥檚 IKEA tote lookalike. But it can easily veer from trendy to the realm of bizarre (clear jeans, anyone?). Now French fashion house Maison Margiela has created a shoe that鈥檚 got us scratching our heads.

The Future Destroyed High-Top Sneaker ($1425) is 鈥渉eavily distressed,鈥 according to the product description on Neiman Marcus, but honestly looks like something your dog did a number on. All of that wear and tear comes with a hefty price tag; the pair will set you back more than a new MacBook.

The Future Destroyed shoe is actually a deconstructed version of the brand鈥檚 Future sneaker ($895), which is fully 鈥渃onstructed鈥 and less expensive.
