Well… it’s official. We can’t get enough of you guys. From Re:Make to our holiday retail shop, one of our absolute favorite things to do is to hang out with YOU in real life. That’s why, starting today, we’ll be re-opening our pop-up shop, Brit + Co SF, here in our San Francisco headquarters.
In case you haven’t heard, Brit + Co SF is a brand new retail experience that combines making and shopping under one roof. Every few weeks, the theme of the DIY projects, the decor, and the shoppable products change. In December, everything was ho-ho-ho crazy as we celebrated the holiday season. This time, it’s all about “Winter Love” and we’ve got so much snow that you’d think the Polar Vortex was back in town.
On the “Make” side of Brit + Co SF, we’ve got an entire wall of 3D printers spooling up cards and roses for Valentine’s Day (and a class where you can learn to 3D print your own!), laser cutters going to town on some wood and acrylic, and tons of DIY stations where you can sit down and make all kinds of stuff for free. This time, our stations include: DIY touchscreen gloves, DIY winter beanies, and one of our favorite projects from last year, cross-stitch Valentine’s Day cards. Reminder: these are all FREE to come and make!
One special new part of Brit + Co SF is called the Brit Kits Bar. If you’ve followed us for awhile, you know that Brit Kits are DIY projects in a box. They come with everything you need to complete a project in 30 minutes or less. At the Brit Kits Bar, you can select your kit, customize your colors, and start making ASAP! Or you can take it home to do on your own or with friends.
Not up for making? Check out the “Shop” side of Brit + Co SF, which is broken up into the same categories of our site (Home, Food, Style, Tech, etc). Each section features some of our favorite products from artisans, designers, and inventors we love. Don’t miss the “Bright Ideas” wall – we’ve sourced the best Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and Quirky products that have been invented and/or funded on the web. There’s some stuff here that isn’t even available for public sale elsewhere, so come be first to see!
Want to learn how to make and invent your own products? Then sign up for one of our classes. And if you don’t see anything you want to learn, just shoot us an email to request a skill we should teach. We’ll be adding more classes and events on an ongoing basis.
As a reminder, here is our address and current hours of operation for the “Winter Love” season of Brit + Co SF:
550 Sutter Street • San Francisco, CA 94102 (map)
Open from January 17th — February 28th
Monday — Saturday 11am to 8pm
Sundays 11am to 5pm
We hope you will stop by if you’re in the SF area. Please make sure to tell us you’re a Brit + Co. reader for an extra high-five when you stop in!
