With the first season of The Handmaid鈥檚 Tale wrapped up, and confirmation that season two is on its way, the author of the original novel, Margaret Atwood, is talking about her hopes for the next round. She recently admitted that she鈥檇 love to see Canadian-born rapper Drake make an appearance.

In an interview with The Boston Review, Atwood told interviewer (and author) Junot Diaz that she wants to see Drake pop up in season two of the show. 鈥淲ouldn鈥檛 it be fun for him to have a cameo in season two of The Handmaid鈥檚 Tale?鈥 she asked, adding, 鈥淚鈥檒l drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto. Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?鈥

While Atwood said that she鈥檚 never actually met the 鈥淗otline Bling鈥 rapper, they apparently have mutual acquaintances. 鈥淚t seems like currently Toronto 鈥 and we could say by extension Canada 鈥 has two global superstars: Margaret Atwood and Drake,鈥 Diaz replied.

Of course, Drake has plenty of history in front of the camera, having starred for eight years on the teen drama Degrassi as 鈥Jimmy Brooks,鈥 a character made famous after he ended up paralyzed by a gunshot wound during a school shooting.
