When Salma Hayek isn’t busy rocking pink hair or being the best house guest ever, she’s turning heads on the red carpet. And while many A-listers’ beauty routines are extensive (and expensive), Hayek’s actually relatively low-maintenance. She relies on just a few tried-and-true products — some of which are surprisingly affordable.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard actress told the New York Times what’s in her makeup bag. While she typically sticks to foundation and blush (courtesy of lipstick rubbed on her cheeks) for her day-to-day look, she revealed, “There’s one concealer that is great for events.”

Hayek’s secret weapon for looking flawless under all those flashing lights is Cinema Secrets Ultimate Corrector ($16). However, this heavy duty product should be used only sparingly. “You don’t want to wear it every day because it’s too much coverage, but sometimes I need it for the red carpet,” the Nuance Beauty founder, 50, said.

Other items in her kit include brushes by EcoTools ($13), Clinique Pop ($19) lipsticks, Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm ($74), and her go-to scent is Charlotte Tilbury’s Scent of a Dream ($75 to $130).

As for her skin, Hayek only cleanses at nighttime. She says, “My grandmother taught me that at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day. Also, if I cleanse very well at night, why would it be dirty when I wake up?”
