A Definitive 'The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives' Season 2 Refresher

The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Season 2
Hulu

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 didn't come to play—and honestly, we should have seen this coming from the beloved Hulu series. From cheating scandals to police showing up at Halloween parties, this season delivered the kind of chaos that makes you question your life choices while simultaneously reaching for the remote to keep watching. Here are the moments that had us absolutely spiraling — and all the #MomTok drama you need to catch up on before the reunion on July 1, 2025.

Scroll to catch up on everything you missed during Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2...

1. Taylor Meets Dakota's Other Girlfriend

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen

Hulu

The audacity of this man! Taylor and Dakota have had a tumultuous relationship, and much of season 2 focuses on how Dakota had a whole other girlfriend outside of Taylor. The real kicker? Taylor and the other girlfriend, Jenna, meet up at Mayci's house and hash out all the details.

Jenna lets Taylor have her phone and read through the messages to see all the overlap in their two relationship, plus all the lies that Dakota spoon-fed to Taylor. But wait, there's more—Jenna reveals to Taylor that Dakota said he is only with Taylor to build his social media clout and nothing more.

The secondhand embarrassment was real, and watching Taylor realize just how cruel Dakota could be was genuinely heartbreaking.

2. Marciano Spills All the Tea About Demi and Jessi

Jessi Ngatikaura

Hulu

Remember that Italy trip that had everyone whispering? Well, the truth finally came out in the most dramatic way possible. In the final moments of the last episode, Marciano Brunette clears the air about him and Demi in the villa. He reveals to Layla that he tried to kiss Demi, but that nothing actually happened between them, despite the rumors.

Plot twist: He does admit, though, that there was something going on between him and Jessi. He says that Jessi and he did a little more than kiss, and that Jordan, Jessi's husband, doesn't know the extent of all that happened. The finale just got a whole lot messier.

3. Halloween Party Turns Into Actual Crime Scene

Taylor Frankie Paul, Mayci Neeley, and Jessi Ngatikaura

Hulu

Leave it to this group to turn Halloween into a police matter. The whole Halloween Party was almost manufactured to end in drama when Jessi made it a point to invite everyone who could cause a scene.

Things escalated when Chase, Miranda's ex and one of the swingers from Taylor's Season 1 bombshell drop, is in attendance, and he makes his presence known by

immediately speaking to Dakota. What started as yelling between Taylor, Chase, and Dakota spiraled completely out of control. Chase's new girlfriend leaves, and Demi tells Chase to pay attention to his girlfriend. This causes Chase to ask Demi where her husband is and touch her on his way out the door.

Demi doesn't appreciate this and tells Bret, who runs outside and gets in Chase's face. The cherry on top? The cops show up on a noise complaint. It wouldn't be a MomTok party without a little drama!

4. Jen's Mental Health Exit

Jen Affleck

Hulu

Sometimes reality TV gets too real, and Jen's departure was one of those moments. Jen makes the decision to stop filming in Season 2 early, citing mental health struggles.

Between trying to work things out with her husband, Zac, and finding out that they are pregnant and will be welcoming a third baby to the family, the pressure became too much. The stress of all the drama, plus a new pregnancy in an already rocky marriage, isn't a recipe for success, so Jen feels it's in her best interest to stop filming on the show. Props to her for prioritizing her well-being over the cameras.

5. Demi Faces Cheating Allegations

Demi Engemann

Hulu

Just when you thought the drama couldn't get any messier, someone drops a cheating bombshell. Mayci tells Mikayla and Taylor that, during a Sinner Sunday submission, she received a tip stating that someone slept with Bret while Demi was away on a trip.

Demi's response? When confronted about this, Demi assures them that she and Bret have only been apart from each other for five days at the most and that she would leave the relationship if that were the truth. She stood by her man publicly, but off-screen, Demi remarks that he is acting guilty. That side comment hit different.

Whitney Leavitt and Miranda McWhorter

Hulu

Honestly, season 2 proved that Mormon mom drama is unmatched. Between secret affairs, police interventions, and mental health breaks, this season had everything except peaceful moments. If you thought season 1 was wild, this season said "hold my Diet Coke" and proceeded to blow our minds.
