Social media hasn’t been quite the same this week, as our Insta and Snapchat feeds have been lacking their usual hearty dose of Kim Kardashian West. Since her terrifying Paris robbery, the reality TV star (not surprisingly) has stepped away from the spotlight, officially announcing that she’ll be taking time off and putting KUWTK filming on hold indefinitely. By doing so, Kim isn’t simply taking a break from her phone, however — she’s taking a break from her career, and, as it turns out, it could cost her quite a bit financially… to the tune of $1 million per month, to be precise!
Speaking with celebrity financial adviser Samuel Rad, People discovered that Kim is making at least $1 million per month just posting about her everyday activities — Sam believes Kim’s regular snaps “are worth at least $20,000 apiece to her overall brand” — and that’s not including what she’s being paid for any additional #ad Instagrams and personal appearances, for which she reportedly charges $200,000 to $300,000 a pop.
That being said, Sam said he believes that Kim’s hiatus could actually work in her favor if she (by which we mean momager Kris) plans a huge, expertly thought-out comeback. “I think what’s going to happen is the first post she’s going to put up after not having posted for [a while], it’s going to get so many more followers and hits,” he explained. “I think that it might actually end up helping her. I think it could be a really big moneymaker for her brand. If Kim positions herself correctly, she can have a real blockbuster media score.”
Kim, for her part, doesn’t seem to be thinking on quitttteeee those same terms ATM, with her last photo posted six days ago (a lifetime for her) and a second source telling People, “Kim is still upset and things are not even close to being back to normal. She has no plans to work in the near future.”
All we know is that we’re glad the mama of two is safe: We hope she takes as much time as she needs to recover after the shocking incident. Stay strong, Kim!
