Not Psyched for V-Day? You’ll Love This Anti-Valentine’s Day Art
Do you flinch when you see red and pink Valentine’s Day cards lining the aisle and think teddy bears should never be given as a romantic gesture? For all you cynics, we’ve found the coolest anti-Valentine’s Day cards on the block. Bright colors and bold hand lettering make these giant posters the perfect piece of wall art to display all year round.
Annica Lydenberg, an artist based in New York, has created these hand-lettered Valentine’s Day signs as a way to poke fun at a holiday that commercializes love. Inspired by vintage signs displayed in store windows and grocery stores, Lydenberg thought it would be funny to advertise romantic skills in the same retro, scripted font.
Available in four different designs and a variety of hot colors, there’s something for everyone. Some of these designs are cute and funny, while others are a little naughty, like renting half of the bed at a special price and offering free makeout sessions.
If you’re feeling inspired by her lettering skills, try your hand at making your own hand-lettered Valentines.
Check out all of Annica Lydenberg‘s amusing signs and watch how she does her amazing hand lettering in the video below. Then head to her Etsy shop, Dirty Bandits, to get your very own poster.
