This Easy-to-Make Drink May Ruin Regular Coffee for You Forever

So let’s see — we’ve got coffee for that much-needed energy buzz, Amaretto for that warm, giddy feeling and chocolate to help all your troubles melt away. We’re pretty sure that’s the perfect formula for a festive winter drink that’ll leave you with a giant smile on your face (there were certainly smiles on the taste-tester’s faces anyway!). You can have this boozy mocha drink warming your hands and belly in 10 minutes flat. Just be careful — those plain old lattes are going to be mighty boring once you’ve tried one of these…

Ingredients:

Serves 2

— 2 heaping Tablespoons freshly ground coffee (or good-quality instant coffee)

— ½ cup whipping cream

— ¾ cup milk

— 2 heaping Tablespoons chocolate sauce (Hershey’s is good, or you could even use Nutella)

— ¼ cup Amaretto liquor

— ½ teaspoon cocoa powder

Instructions:

1. Make a pot of hot coffee using the ground coffee and one cup of water.

2. Whisk the cream until soft peaks form.

3. Heat the milk in a microwave or a small saucepan and stir in the chocolate sauce until completely mixed.

4. Pour the hot chocolate milk into two cups, then fill almost to the top with hot coffee.

5. Stir in the Amaretto, then top with spoonfuls of whipped cream. Sift the cocoa powder on top before serving.

Make a pot of hot coffee using the ground coffee and one cup of water. Or if you have the perfect ratio of your own, go with that!

Whisk the cream until soft peaks form. For such a small amount, a battery-powered milk frother can do this job quite nicely.

Heat the milk in a microwave or a small saucepan and stir in the chocolate sauce until completely mixed.

Pour the hot chocolate milk into two cups, then fill almost to the top with hot coffee. At this point, you’ve got a tasty booze-free drink if that’s more your style.

Stir in the Amaretto, then top with spoonfuls of whipped cream. Sift the cocoa powder on top before serving.

Whipped cream mustaches optional :)
