Balloons are kind of our jam. We’ve used them to make balloon art with the cutest little ones around, to make bud vases for spring blooms and a light-up version of them even went into our very first Brit Kit!

Now, balloons are BACK. In our forthcoming book, Homemakers, we share one of our favorite party tricks ever: the balloon photo backdrop.

You simply blow up a bunch of balloons (no helium required!), string them together using fishing line and hang them up in rows on on your wall using painter’s tape. Simple as that! Pre-order Homemakers now to be the first in line to see this and over 50 other exclusive DIY projects that are just waiting to land a place on your to-make list.

Seeing as you now understand how much we love the party-perfect possibilities of balloons, how’s about we throw it back?

This photo shoot of Brit, Misty and myself was to celebrate our FIRST BIRTHDAY back in 2012. How crazy is that? Oh, memory lane ;)

Don’t forget to pre-order our book, Homemakers, which officially releases on March 3! More on what the book is all about right here:

The rules of homemaking have radically changed. Today’s generation is digitally connected 24/7 and often more focused on climbing the career ladder at the office than the stepladder at home.

But the home “maker” evolution has just begun. Thanks to advances in technology, tomorrow’s men and women will find themselves using new gadgets and apps to cook, clean, decorate and even manufacture everything from decor to clothing, from right inside their homes.

In Homemakers, Brit Morin, founder of the wildly popular lifestyle brand, app, and website Brit + Co, reimagines homemaking for the twenty-first century, making it as simple as possible to go from amateur to pro with easy charts, tips, recipes, DIY projects and tech shortcuts. Simple, beautiful and stylish, it offers the digital generation a wealth of innovative ideas and how-tos for a more creative life.

Now go out, get yourself a bunch of balloons and throw the most colorful party ever!
