Ian Somerhalder’s Note to Nikki Reed About Motherhood Will Give You All the Feels
Just before welcoming their first child together, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed said they’d be taking a “month of silence” following the birth — no visitors, no cell phones, nothing. Now, a few days shy of a month since little Bodhi Soleil’s arrival, new dad Somerhalder is back on social media to show some love to his “inspiring” wife.
“Just a quick note to you my beautiful wife,” Somerhalder wrote in the caption of his post, which featured a slideshow of pics of Reed, including her Fit Pregnancy magazine cover and a stunning baby bump pic.
“You are briefly napping on the other side of the room after being an amazing mom all night so you’ll read this when you wake. Seeing these images reminds me of those amazing nine months that you sacrificed your whole being to grow our little one. The kindness, the beauty and organic nature of these photos makes me so very proud. You brought such fun and such power into our lives being pregnant but you literally brought the word sexy into pregnancy, we all see it.”
He continued: “Thank you for being my partner in this life and thank you for inspiring not just me but all others who read, hear or see what your soul gives us.”
Somerhalder isn’t the only one who broke the month-of-silence pact — Reed took to Instagram herself to share a pic of her husband trying to view the solar eclipse, making him one of many celebs who had just as much fun with the phenomenon as the rest of us.
“Honey you sure you can see through those?!” she joked. “The only way to watch the solar eclipse brought to you by my husband, inventor of all things practical.” She capped her post with a couple of cry-laughing emojis, because, well, you see the pic.
Between both Somerhalder and Reed’s IG posts, we get a pretty well-rounded picture of this loving and goofy couple, and we’re glad they decided to pick up their phones for the day. It might not be too long before we get to see some pics of their new baby after all!
