Justin Timberlake鈥檚 recent return to the spotlight has fans divided in so many ways, including his attempt at showing support during this year鈥檚 Golden Globes. While prepping for last night鈥檚 show, the musician managed to amp up criticism being lobbed against him for working with embattled director Woody Allen.

Tweeting out a snap of his wife Jessica Biel alongside him prepping to leave for the Globes telecast, the 鈥淔ilthy鈥 singer wrote, 鈥淗ere we come!! And DAMN, my wife is hot! #TIMESUP #whywewearblack鈥 But Timberlake鈥檚 attempt to show solidarity for the movement of women鈥檚 equality has brought major backlash. Why? Because the actor-musician recently made the decision to work with Allen, a man with multiple allegations of child abuse against him.

Woody Allen has been accused by Dylan Farrow, the daughter of his ex-partner Mia Farrow, of childhood sexual abuse. Allen is also now married to Farrow鈥檚 adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, whom he may have started dating while she was still a teenager.

Globes watchers lambasted the singer for his 鈥減erformative鈥 wearing of the Time鈥檚 Up pin, and called him out for wearing it while still promoting his work with Allen.

Fans also took him to task for supporting Time鈥檚 Up while he essentially allowed Janet Jackson to take the fall for his ripping her top off during their 2004 Super Bowl performance (something he鈥檚 never apologized for, either).

Timberlake has not made a comment about either working with Allen or about what happened with Jackson during their joint halftime performance, but in light of this backlash, he may have to.
