As the October 26 premiere date for Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina nears, we’re finally getting our first look at Kiernan Shipka in costume as the title character.

In the first photo, released by Netflix on Monday, August 13, Shipka, in character as Sabrina Spellman, stands by herself in the middle of a wooded area. The teenage witch wears a red peacoat and a red leather bag, and has what looks to be a walking stick in one hand and a bell in the other.

The second photo shows Shipka as Sabrina again, this time with Aunt Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto) looking on as Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle) seemingly performs a dark spell of sorts in the woods. Other cast members, including Abigail Cowan, Adeline Rudolph, and Tati Gabrielle are also present.

The Netflix adaptation of the comic book will put a darker spin on the story than the beloved Melissa Joan Hart-starring ABC series you might remember from your youth. It’s been described as “a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and, of course, witchcraft.” Riverdale writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is writing the series as well as executive producing with head Riverdale honcho Greg Berlanti.

Netflix revealed the series’ appropriately Halloween-adjacent release date with a spooky stunt at this year’s Television Critics Association, when a group of “Sabrinas” entered a dark room to some creepy music and whispered, “Something wicked this way comes,” over and over for several minutes.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be released on Netflix on Friday, October 26.
