‘Killing Eve’ Just Dropped a New Season 2 Trailer and We’re Already Obsessed
After leaving us on the edge of our seats with a chaotic cliffhanger in season 1, Killing Eve is feeding our obsession and anticipation with a new trailer for season 2. BBC America debuted the teaser as a Valentine’s Day present on Thursday, February 14.
The teaser picks up shortly after the events of the season 1 finale, beginning with a shocked Eve (Sandra Oh) clutching and eating a bag of popcorn as she stares straight ahead, seemingly in a trance.
“I found Villanelle,” she says to someone on the phone in the next scene, while accidentally crashing and ruining a proposal happening in front of her. “I think I might have killed her.”
The teaser then cuts to Villanelle (Jodie Comer), who is very much alive and recovering in a hospital. From there, we see the sociopathic killer looking for a knife, applying makeup in a department store, wearing a pig’s mask, and roaming the streets in a pair of pajamas. All very normal stuff.
Meanwhile, Eve receives an elaborate floral arrangement that spells out her name — and we can only assume it’s from Villanelle, not Eve’s husband Niko. Throughout the whole trailer, a slowed-down, female-voiced cover of Robert Palmer’s ’80s hit “Addicted” plays menacingly in the background.
Oh recently nabbed a Best Actress Golden Globe for her role as the intelligence officer, making her the first Asian actor to win Golden Globes in multiple categories. She previously won Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture for TV for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy.
Killing Eve returns to the BBC and AMC on April 7.
