Marijuana may still be up for legal debate in your state, but in your makeup bag? That is a different story.聽Cannabis oil is known for its benefits for both body and skin,聽and now it鈥檚聽making its way into your beauty too. Milk Makeup鈥檚 new KUSH High Volume Mascara聽($24) is a fiber formula that鈥檚 the first of its kind to聽include the buzzy ingredient and be totally vegan. But聽beyond the hype, what this mascara聽really聽gives you are the聽lush lashes聽you鈥檝e been jonesing for.

The聽makeup mavens at Milk were looking for a vegan alternative to beeswax, and they turned to the hemp plant鈥檚 cannabis oil聽to create a full-volume fiber mascara (no worries about getting a contact high, since the oil doesn鈥檛 contain the psychoactive ingredient THC). It proved to work well in the formula: The oil creates a creamy texture that fuses the fibers onto lashes for a smoother application and tug-free removal.聽The conditioning ingredients also stick to聽hairs,聽continuing to keep them soft long after聽the mascara is wiped off.

But if that鈥檚 not mind-blowing enough, here鈥檚 another reason for the high accolades: The mascara is made with heart-shaped聽fibers rather than the usual cylindrical ones. The cannabis oil fills these hollow fibers so they widen and don鈥檛 give you that scary, spindly look聽(a big problem with fiber mascaras). Instead,聽you get a hit of聽majorly thicker, fuller聽lashes. But don鈥檛 just take our word for it 鈥 see how lit you鈥檒l look with a聽single swipe (below).
