It’s an exciting time for the Hilton family! Last month, younger sister Nicky Hilton welcomed her second child into the world, and now Paris Hilton has revealed that she’s engaged to Chris Zylka.
It was pretty clear that things were going well for Hilton and her bae — you don’t get a giant Disney-inspired tattoo of your significant other’s name if forever isn’t a possibility — but over the New Year’s weekend, the two made things official.
During a ski trip in Aspen, Colorado, Zylka proposed to the 36-year-old heiress and former reality TV star while the two were out on the slopes. As they posed for pics, the 32-year-old Leftovers actor (whose real name is Christopher Michael Settlemire) got down on one knee, held out a ring, and popped the question.
“I was so excited and surprised! I immediately said yes!” the bride-to-be told People.
She echoed her excitement on Twitter, writing, “I am so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend. I have never felt so happy, safe, and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairytales really do exist!”
She later posted a photo of Zylka on one knee, captioning it, “I said Yas! So happy & excited to be engaged to the love of my life. My best friend & soulmate. Perfect for me in every way. So dedicated, loyal, loving & kindhearted. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! You are my dream come true!”
The two first met eight years ago during an Oscars party, and then crossed paths again two years ago. This time, love was obviously in the cards. After dating quietly at first, they took things public in February 2016 and have since regularly popped up on Instagram in posts that show the extent of their love.
“Ever since our first date I knew there was something special about him,” Hilton told People. “I have never in my life met a man so loyal, dedicated, and loving. I knew right from the start that I wanted to be with him forever.”
Congratulations to the happy couple! We can’t wait to see the surely super-luxe wedding!
