Paris Hilton on Split from Fiancé Chris Zylka: ‘I Thought It Was Going to Be My Happy Ending’
A week after reports surfaced that Paris Hilton had ended her engagement with fiancé Chris Zylka, the hotel heiress is opening up about the split and why the relationship didn’t work out.
“I’m doing really good,” Hilton shared on The Talk. “I’m just really having my ‘me time.'” The social media star and DJ then went into why she and Zylka ended their 11-month engagement.
“I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard and it was this whirlwind romance,” she explained. “I’ve always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories and I thought it was going to be my happy ending, and I just realized after time it wasn’t the right decision.”
Hilton and Zylka got engaged while in Aspen for New Year’s 2017 after going public with their romance the previous February. Zylka, known for his role as Tom Garvey on HBO’s The Leftovers, proposed with a massive $2 million, 20-carat ring. At the time, Hilton praised the actor as her “best friend & soulmate. Perfect for me in every way. So dedicated, loyal, loving & kindhearted.”
Although it didn’t work out with Zylka, Hilton wished him the best and said she’s still holding out for her happy ending. “One day I would love to get married and have children,” she said, “but for right now I’m just focused on myself and my work.”
