The Next Season of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Will Heat Up With International Contestants
Bachelor Winter Games took reality TV match-making to a whole new level when it brought together contestants from all over the world. And it was such a (wild, hilarious, and drama-filled) success that the new season of Bachelor in Paradise will likely do the same.
The BiP crew is set to head back to Mexico for season five this summer, and Robert Mills, senior vice president of alternative programming at ABC, told E! News, “I definitely think you’ll see some international faces.” However, when it comes to who that might be, he added, “[I’m] not sure how many or where they are going to come from.”
He did continue by revealing that those behind the scenes are currently interested in bringing back “people that you’re familiar with from Winter Games unless there are [other international contestants] that are absolutely fantastic.”
Mills noted that Winter Games “seemed to form some really strong couples, and at the end of the day that’s the goal.” The newest Bachelor spin-off resulted in four love-connections, including Dean Unglert and Lesley Murphy, Courtney Dober and Lily McManus, Benoit Beauséjour-Savard and Clare Crawley (who ended up getting engaged during the reunion special), as well as Kevin Wendt and Ashley Iaconetti (who have now sadly split).
There will certainly be plenty of eager contestants to choose from when it comes to filling the beach with singles, as the franchise currently spans around 22 to 26 different shows (TBH, it’s hard to nail down the exact number), including versions in Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, and China.
Considering how sizzling hot things got when the couples on Winter Games were playing in the snow, we can’t imagine how fiery they’ll be when the action hits the beach during season five of Bachelor in Paradise.
