Jessica Simpson may be back in her Daisy Dukes, but there’s a more modest, yet equally throwback version of shorts that are set to be the style of the summer — at least if (potentially engaged) Gigi Hadid has anything to say about it.

The 21-year-old model recently stepped out in bottoms we thought had left our closets forever — jorts. Not quite a jean and not quite a full short, this in-between style was momentarily super cool in the mid-90s but has since fallen out of favor to cutoffs.

Yet Hadid donned the long-forgotten look en route to a business meeting with fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, for whom she recently designed a (second) best-selling collection. She even teased more goods on the way, captioning the pap shot posted to her page, “More @tommyxgigi is on the way for you guys!” (Eeee!)

Pairing her just-above-knee denim shorts with a flowing plaid cape shirt, Tony Bianco Diddy Booties ($120), and a Tommy “highroller” jersey tank ($90), the budding entrepreneur made it clear that the ‘90s are back, and with a vengeance.

It’s not the only time she’s experimented with denim in recent days, either — you may recall her off-the-shoulder denim jacket she donned back in early March.

Even Khloé Kardashian is in on the trend, rocking the look as part of her Good American spring update.
