Kristen Stewart’s Cat Eye Was Even Better Than Her Mini Twilight Reunion
Sure sure sure, there was a mini Twilight reunion at the premiere of American Ultra last night when the movie’s star Kristen Stewart brought along Taylor Lautner as her date (#TeamJacob fans, freak). But as cute as the two were on the red carpet — Lautner leaning in for a nuzzle, KStew kind of smiling — we just couldn’t get over Kristen’s oversized cat eye. And not just because on her off-duty days, the actress is a total tomboy beauty muse (think: no-makeup makeup except for the smudge from last night’s eyeliner). This slightly smokey version of the classic flick is just the right mix of edgy and elegant to wear to event this fall.
As grungy-glam as the thick cat eye looks, it takes a delicate hand to pull off — precision for the exaggerated swoop and carefully smudged blending to build the graphic, matte wing. Kristen paired the eye makeup with a piecey updo to stick with the IDGAF vibe and a nude mani to keep things feeling unfussy in the midst of her super sparkly romper.
Kristen rounded out the look with chic black pumps and almost zero other accessories — no necklace, earrings or bracelets, just a thin ring or two. Steal the less-is-more move you when you’re sporting fall’s eclectic batch of formalwear (suede dresses, anyone?).
