Margot Robbie’s Wedding Dress Was Sentimental AF and You’ll Love Why
Margot Robbie not only pulled off the stealthiest wedding Hollywood has (or rather, hasn’t) seen in ages, but confirmed the big news by showing off her wedding ring in her very own quirky (and bada$$) way. And now it turns out there was something else totally unique about Margot’s nuptials to new hubby, Tom Ackerley. Instead of opting for a custom piece or off-the-rack stunner, the Suicide Squad actress chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress.
30 years ago, Margot’s mom, Sarie Kessler, wore the white-cream off-the-shoulder lace dress to her own wedding. With Margot having a famously close relationship with her mom (even paying off the mortgage on Sarie’s home back in 2014), it totally makes sense that this particular daughter would make such a sentimental choice.
Australia’s Courier-Mail confirmed that 26-year-old Margot had the “vintage” dress altered by high-profile Gold Coast designer Casey Tanswell just a week before the big day, then added a little of her own style by opting for a gold pendant necklace and wearing her hair down in loose curls pinned back with no veil.
Though there are no clear pics of Margot’s wedding day look (seriously, they did such an impressive job of keeping their special day private), it sounds simply lovely and sentimental AF.
