The Full ‘Ocean’s 8’ Trailer Just Dropped and It’s *Criminally* Good
Ocean’s 8 had us hooked even before we watched the initial teaser trailer. And now the first full trailer is here — and it is criminally good.
Freshly out of jail, professional thief Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) already has her next target in mind: the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala in New York City. Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) will be a guest at the event and plans to wear a $100 million diamond necklace that’s just too tempting for any criminal to pass up.
“They’ve got what it takes to take what you’ve got,” the trailer teases between scenes showing Debbie and her crew preparing for the heist. “Having this much fun is a crime.”
Prior to the trailer’s release, the film’s Twitter account dropped a series of short clips introducing each of the formidable ladies, including Debbie Ocean herself.
Cate Blanchett plays Lou, who seems to be Debbie’s right-hand woman.
Helena Bonham Carter appears as the fabulous Rose.
Rihanna is tech-savvy Nine Ball.
Awkwafina is trickster Constance.
Sarah Paulson plays suburban mom Tammy.
And Mindy Kaling is Amita.
Anne Hathaway isn’t part of the gang (as far as we know), but she’s integral to the scheme as the diamond-wearing Daphne.
And as amazing as each of these women is individually, the trailer proves that together they’re a seemingly unstoppable thieving machine (except for perhaps Daphne).
Ocean’s 8 hits theaters on June 8.
