Shawn Johnson Got Engaged in the Most Perfect Way

The band on her ring might be silver, but we think these two lovebirds just won gold. The 23-year-old gymnast (who won gold in the Beijing Olympicsand was crowned champion on Dancing with the Stars) and 23-year-old Andrew East, a snapper for the Kansas City Chiefs, got engaged yesterday at the Chicago Cub’s Wrigley Field. Yep, that’s right: The two athletes appropriately got engaged during a sporting event. Shawn shared an Instagram of the big moment with her fans:
Along with the video she commented, “Well I know its not a secret…But I experienced the greatest surprise a girl could ever ask for today…The love of my life @andrewdeast asked me to be his forever AND I SAID YES!!!!!! #isaidyes #weregettingmarried #holycow.” And then in true athlete fashion, she posted a play-by-play of the entire moment — including a pic of her gorgeous new ring!
Congrats to the happy couple. We hope yesterday was filled with much celebration and cheers to a very happy, healthy (!!) life together.
